Magpies Cody Lange ruptures ACL

Magpies Netball Club shooter Cody Lange will miss the remainder of the Suncorp Super Netball, after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.

Lange sustained the injury during training on Monday night. It is her second ACL injury, having undergone a reconstruction to her right knee in 2016.

Magpies Netball head coach Kristy Keppich-Birrell said the group are devastated for the 22-year-old.

“Both the playing group and coaches are shattered for Cody who has flourished since arriving at the club having only recently returned from her previous knee injury,” Keppich-Birrell said.

“We watched Cody work tirelessly over the past six months to get back to full fitness and the commitment and professionalism she showed during that time gives us every confidence that she will again make a successful return to the court.”

“Codes’ is much-loved by the group and will still play an important support role throughout the remainder of the 2017 season.”

Lange will undergo surgery in the coming weeks and work closely with the club’s medical and conditioning staff throughout her rehabilitation.

A replacement player will be named by the club in due course.
