Collingwood has today informed defender Matilda Garrett that she will not be offered another contract with the club in 2021.
Garrett made her Suncorp Super Netball debut with Collingwood in 2018 after being elevated from the Tasmanian Magpies Australia Netball League side to the senior list the year prior.
This year the 22-year-old played every game of the 14-round season and was selected for Netball Australia’s Development Squad for a second consecutive year.
Collingwood’s GM of Women’s Sport, Jane Woodlands-Thompson, thanked Garrett for her contribution to the club.
“Tilly has been a valued member of Collingwood and we have seen great growth in her game and as an individual during her four years at the club,” Woodlands-Thompson said.
“The decision to let Tilly go was not made lightly, she is proving to develop into one of netball’s best young talents. We wish Tilly all the best with her future endeavours.”
Clubs have until 16 November to complete their 2021 rosters and Collingwood currently have eight players on their list: Geva Mentor, Ash Brazill, Kelsey Browne, Shimona Nelson, Molly Jovic, Jodi-Ann Ward, Gabby Sinclair and new recruit Kalifa McCollin from Trinidad and Tobago.
