McCollin joins the side after a season with the Southern Steel in New Zealand’s ANZ Premiership League where the 25-year-old held an impressive 84 per cent shooting accuracy for the 2020 season.
The experienced goal attack has also played three seasons in the United Kingdom’s Superleague and, last year, McCollin represented Trinidad and Tobago’s national netball team, the Calypso Girls, in the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool, her second national selection following the 2015 World Cup in Sydney.
McCollin will be joined in the goal circle with Gabby Sinclair who has re-commited to the Magpies for a third term.
The 27-year-old was a standout performer this season, specialising in the Suncorp Super Shot, scoring 57 from long range, the second most for the league.
Collingwood’s GM of Women’s Sport, Jane Woodlands-Thompson, said the two signings will add great value to the Pies’ attack end.
“Gabby has demonstrated her ability to step up during a time of change within the game. Kalifa adds international experience and holds a superior shooting accuracy,” Woodlands-Thompson said.
“The pair, along with Shimona, will be an attacking triad of strength for 2021."
McCollin and Sinclair join Molly Jovic, Jodi-Ann Ward, Geva Mentor, Kelsey Browne, Shimona Nelson and Ash Brazill as contracted players with Collingwood for the 2021 season.
