The NSW Swifts have locked in another piece of their puzzle for the 2020 Super Netball season, signing head coach Briony Akle and assistant Anita Keelan for two more years.
The duo, who are set to oversee the Swifts' first Super Netball finals campaign in the coming weeks, will remain at the helm of the franchise until at least the end of the 2021 season.
The Swifts are assured of a top two position at season's end, currently sitting in second spot with one round remaining.
Akle said it was exciting to have the opportunity to build on what they had started this season, after she took over from Rob Wright during the club's 2018 campaign.
"On a personal level I cannot wait for the challenges ahead, especially our 2019 campaign. We have a special group of players and we're pretty well advanced in preparations for 2020 so now it's about putting our heads down and building on the good work that's gone before," she said.
The Swifts have now signed a large contingent of their 2019 line-up both on and off the court, with eight of the current squad of 10 players already confirmed.
Only defenders Sarah Klau and Kate Eddy are yet to put pen to paper.
The list of uncontracted Super Netball players was released last week, with rival clubs now able to approach those who have yet to lock in new deals.
NSW Swifts general manager Nikki Horton said the club was thrilled to secure Akle and Keelan's ongoing services.
"Briony and Anita have created a fantastic culture and developed players who not only want to excel for themselves but for everyone around them," Horton said.
"That we have secured a top two finish for the 2019 regular season, and still have the opportunity to win the minor premiership, is a testament to the amazing work they have done in a short time."
The Swifts host the Queensland Firebirds on Saturday in the final round of the 2019 season, and currently trail the Sunshine Coast Lightning by just two premiership points.
A win could see them reclaim top spot and home court advantage throughout the finals series.
