The opening minutes saw a tight contest with both teams trading goals early in a physical, end-to-end contest.聽The Mavericks showed early composure, but it wasn鈥檛 long before Fowler-Nembhard聽found her rhythm. The Jamaican superstar asserted her dominance under the post, sinking three unanswered goals to break the deadlock and give聽Fever the early lead.
As penalties started to rise for the Mavericks, the Fever capitalised to secure their first first-quarter win of the season.聽
In a bid to stem the raging tide of Fowler-Nembhard, Jessie Grenvold was injected straight into the second quarter. Uneeq Palavi got her first minutes of the game as Glasgow shifted to the bench and the visitors started to find some confidence. Grenvold went hunting, but it was Fowler-Nembhard who came up trumps as Fever finished 38-29 at half time.聽
