It has already been a big few months in Suncorp Super Netball signing news, with a number of stars set to depart their current clubs.
Here we detail the latest news on the player movement front.
Swifts complete signing period December 24
NSW Swifts have announced their final signing ahead of the 2024 season, putting pen to paper with pathways product Lili Gorman-Brown for her maiden season.
A quick mover with speed to burn, Gorman-Brown made her SSN debut during the 2023 season and proved more than capable of taking her game to the SSN level consistently.
“I have coached Lili from her pathway days right up to Super Netball and she’s always been the ultimate team player, whose been selfless and chipped away and now her time has come,” said Swifts head coach Briony Akle.
“To make it to Super Netball you can’t just be good: you have to be exceptional.
“Your talent must also be matched with resilience and Lili is a testament to that.
“Lili came in and did an exceptional job for us, particularly in 2023, and has really earned her shot in 2024. I can’t wait to see what she can do next.”
Smith signs on December 23
Versatile defender Allie Smith will don the red dress again signing with the Swifts for two more years.
The 23-year-old's ability to switch between hunting intercepts to turn up the heat and playing a shut down role on her opposition makes her a key asset to the Swifts squad.
“I have loved my time with the Swifts so far and feel really at home in Sydney,” Smith said.
“While injury ruled me out for the Finals Series in 2023, I felt I was playing really good netball and that has given me confidence looking ahead.
“My teammates, coaches and the wider staff are all exceptionally supportive and there is a real family vibe at the Club which is pretty infectious when you come here.
“I obviously grew up in Victoria and making the move in 2022 was a little dauting at the time, but the support here has been fantastic and I am really grateful for it.
“Playing in front of packed house at Ken Rosewall Arena is also pretty cool so I’m very happy with where I am just now.
“I cannot wait to bounce back in 2024 and committing to the Swifts for two seasons really helps when it comes to setting performance goals."
Sterling completes Thunderbirds list December 22
Adelaide Thunderbirds have completed their 2024 list, confirming Shamera Sterling will return to the club for the next three years.
The Jamaican superstar has been a key asset to the club since her SSN debut in 2019, with her long reach, timing and defensive nous crucial in the Thunderbirds’ 2023 premiership tilt.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said the club was thrilled to welcome back a player of Sterling's calibre.
“Shamera has grown immensely during her time with the club and proved yet again what she’s capable of in our premiership season,” Bourdon said.
“She stepped up into a leadership role in 2023 and led our defensive end to new heights and successes.
“Securing Shamera on a three-year deal is exciting for the club and will extend her tenure with the Thunderbirds to eight seasons.
“We look forward to welcoming her back to Adelaide and working with her to build on what we achieved in 2023.”
O'Shannassy stays a Swift December 22
Defender Teigan O'Shannassy is locked in with the Swifts for two more seasons.
The 24-year-old has chosen to continue to grow her game with the Swifts in her home state of New South Wales, returning to the fray alongside Sarah Klau and Maddy Turner.
“I’ve watched Teigan come up through the NSW Pathways and to see her really bloom and grow into the player she is today is something truly special,” said head coach Briony Akle.
“I feel that Tossy has a lot more to give this coming season and we’re ready to see even more of what she can do.”
Thunderbirds sign experienced shooter December 21
Goal shooter Romelda Aiken-George will continue her impressive career at a third club, signing with the Adelaide Thunderbirds for 2024.
The Jamaican stalwart returned with a vengeance in 2023, taking the NSW Swifts to a grand final berth despite initially being signed as a training partner.
Aiken-George offers a great target to post with her long reach and elevation, and will look to provide some much-needed experience to a youthful – but exciting – Thunderbirds goal circle.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said Aiken-George will be a great addition to the side’s attack end.
“Romelda has been one of the game's best shooting targets for over a decade and she proved that once again during the 2023 season,” Bourdon said.
“She brings significant experience to our relatively young attack end and consistently delivers high volume under the post.
“We look forward to welcoming Romelda into the Thunderbirds family and working with her in 2024.”

“Laura is among the league's most experienced midcourters and her work rate is second to none,” said Thunderbirds high performance manager, Pitre Bourdon.

The English goal attack is no stranger to the SSN, with her influence able to turn games and connection with fellow goalers Sam Wallace and Sophie Fawns a significant sticking point for the Swifts.
Head coach Briony Akle is excited to see Housby continue her illustrious career with the Swifts.
“Helen is a world class operator and we’d never have reached three Grand Finals in five years or won two titles without her,” Akle said.
“You need people who relish pressure in key moments and Helen is one of those.
“I have lost count of how many times she nailed a vital Super Shot or won a key turnover to secure vital wins for us.
“What I like most is that even if it doesn’t always come off for her, Helen will step up and go again. It takes bravery to assume responsibility in those key moments and Helen has it in spades.
“She has built a life for herself down here, and it takes a lot of guts to pack your bags and move to the other side of the world, but she’s demonstrated how well it’s worked for her and that’s been of huge benefit to us.”
Mavericks lure Moore December 21
The Melbourne Mavericks have secured defender Lauren Moore in their inaugural squad.
The exciting defender is mobile on her feet with a high vertical jump capable of making even the most confident feeders second guess their pass.
“Lauren is an unassuming player who has an athletic ability to win the ball in and outside the circle," said head coach Tracey Neville.

Head coach Briony Akle is thrilled to have Hadley back in the red dress for three more years, and said the midcourter is crucial to the Swifts' future.
“In the modern era of the Swifts, Paige has proven herself to be one of the greatest to ever wear the dress,” she said.
“What I love most about Paige is her hunger and desire to constantly get better and drive standards. Despite winning multiple Premierships, World Cups and a Comm Games gold, she never rests on her laurels.
“Paige is a student of the game and loves the Club deeply. You can’t teach passion and talent doesn’t go far without hard work. Thankfully Paige is deeply passionate, talented and exceptionally hard working.

“I just want to absorb as much I can from everyone, work really hard for the team and take any and every opportunity I get with both hands.

With 77 appearances for the Swifts over five season, Wallace's composure, smarts and accuracy make her a key acquisition for the 2023 grand finalists, who fell short in July.
Wallace said returning to the court would be a major step after two years on the sidelines.
“I’m not gonna lie, there were times when I thought it may have been the end for me but so many people at the Swifts helped me through and I will be grateful to them forever.
“Even though I wasn’t able to play over the past two seasons I always felt part of the Club, both on game day and in the community, and the medical staff who looked after me were so kind.
“I want to say how much I love my teammates, coaches, staff and fans of the Swifts and I cannot wait to hit the court.”
Head coach Briony Akle will be proud to see the Trinidad and Tobago goaler return to the court.
“Sammy has done a huge amount of work to get herself in this position, as have our amazing medical and conditioning team.
“You will try to move heaven and earth to keep her part of your team. She has a proven ability at this level and I think she can be the greatest goal shooter in our game again.
“That’s the challenge she’s relishing and we as a team can’t wait to support her.”
Sam Wallace will return to the court in 2024 for the first time in two seasons. Browne flys to Fever December 18
Former Magpies midcourter Kelsey Browne has signed with the West Coast Fever in 2024, looking to bolster an already high-powered midcourt.
“I’ve seen the Green Army’s passion from the other side so cannot wait to be wearing Fever colours and have them right behind us," Browne said.
“I’m ecstatic to be joining this list of incredibly talented athletes and I am grateful for an opportunity to play and learn in a new environment."
Head coach Dan Ryan is excited to see how Browne can impact in the midcourt, replacing recent retiree Verity Simmons.
“Kelsey is a seamless on court transition from Verity with a very similar playing style in the Centre as well as offering a shorter, sharper style of Wing Attack,” Ryan said.
“Her inclusion allows us to maintain some of the key aspects of our high scoring, high tempo attacking game plan so she’s a great fit for the role and is really keen to challenge herself at Centre. I can see her combining and complementing Alice Teague-Neeld’s game in Wing Attack really nicely and her feeding prowess into Jhaniele Fowler will be a great weapon for us.
“She’s a world class player who is still very much at the top of her game and adds so much strength and depth to our midcourt. I think she’ll thrive in the Fever environment and with her experience, netball smarts and silky skills, she’ll will be an incredible asset for our team.”

“El has grown as a player and an individual over the last three years and is one of the dominant forces in International netball," said head coach Tracey Neville.

Winders has ten years of national league experience under her belt, including 47 caps for New Zealand, and spent three years under head coach Julie Fitzgerald at the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic.
She will also reunite with former teammates Jamie-Lee Price and Jo Harten.
“It’s a massive privilege to have the opportunity to play in the Suncorp Super Netball league,” Winders said.
“I felt like I was in a transitioning phase of my career. 10 years of playing at the top level had me asking, ‘now what else do I want to do before it’s all over?’ When the opportunity came up to play in Australia and for the GIANTS, it just felt like the right thing to do, at the right time.”
Head coach Fitzgerald is looking forward to seeing how Winders slots into the side, which remains relatively stable after seven re-signings on Friday.
“It’s exciting to welcome a fresh face into the side,” Fitzgerald said.

“Not only is Ruby a born competitor and leader with a will to win, she has the physical and technical skills to trouble attackers inside and outside the circle.
“Her contribution to the team was highlighted by her success in joining the legends of our club as the 2023 Laura Geitz Medallist, a well-earned accolade.”

Teague-Neeld has been a stronghold at the club since 2019, first playing in goal attack before locking down wing attack over the past two seasons.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to challenge myself at Wing Attack. It’s a position I have really enjoyed over the past two seasons and I am looking forward to building the combinations with some of our new recruits, in particular with our goal attacks,” she said.

“The level of competition in Suncorp Super Netball is going up year after year, and committing my future for the next three years allows me to plan ahead and be at my best for both the team and myself.”
Head coach Briony Akle is thrilled to have Turner locked in for three more years.
“I think Maddy is one of the most unsung heroes of the Swifts because she is just so unassuming in how she goes about her business,” she said.
“Beneath her chilled exterior is one of the finest and most analytical netball minds I have ever come across, which constructively challenges us as coaches, and it is very important to have that kind of voice in the playing group.

“I have had some of my best days in orange and will hold onto many of those moments so tightly for the rest of my netball career and beyond." Parmenter said.

“I am forever grateful for my time at Fever, I started at the club as a young 16-year-old and have had 12 incredible seasons in the green. I always dreamed about playing for Fever and to have been a part of so much success at this club brings me so much joy and pride,” she said.
