The Suncorp Super Netball League has approved former Australian Diamond Renae Ingles as a temporary replacement player for Collingwood Magpies defender Jodi-Ann Ward in today’s Round 14 match against the Melbourne Vixens at John Cain Arena.
The League has approved Ingles after Ward was ruled out due to health and safety protocols, alongside Ash Brazill, Maggie Lind and coach Nicole Richardson.
If significantly impacted by COVID-19, teams must first exhaust their own list of contracted and nominated athletes and training partners. Teams are also eligible to contract a temporary replacement player who is not already linked to a Suncorp Super Netball club under the League’s Competition and Compliance Rules.
Under the COVID-19 Contingency Framework, Ingles is ineligible to play in the 2022 Finals Series.
The League last week advised of a clarification to the COVID-19 Contingency Framework for the 2022 Finals Series, allowing teams to apply to select a nominated athlete from one of the four teams who have not qualified for the Finals Series.
