Australian Diamonds goaler, Kiera Austin will call Melbourne home from 2022, putting pen to paper on a deal with the Melbourne Vixens.
The 24-year-old comes to the club after four years with the GIANTS where she debuted in 2018, playing 29 games, and taking out the club’s Most Valuable Player in 2020.
After making her debut for the Diamonds in the Constellation Cup of March this year, Kiera ruptured her ACL in round 1 of the season, which sadly ruled her out for the rest of the year.
Kiera joins Rahni Samason as the two goalers signed for the 2022 season so far.
“I’m really looking forward to my next chapter with the Vixens and the opportunity that comes with a new club and city,” said Austin.
“The Vixens have always been a strong team in the competition and with the results of the last couple of years, I know there’s something really special coming in 2022, and I’m excited to be a part of that.
“I do want to thank the GIANTS players and staff for their support of me over the last four years, particularly this year in my recovery. I have loved every minute of my time there and will be forever grateful for the opportunities the club has given me.”
Austin joins Rahni Samason as the Vixens goalers currently signed on for 2022, with Hannah Mundy, Kate Moloney, Liz Watson, Jo Weston and Emily Mannix all signing within the last week
