We're getting to the pointy end of the season now and premiership contenders are starting to edge their way ahead of the rest of the pack.
But don't take the bottom four lightly.
In the second week of First Nations Round, the Collingwood Magpies will host the ladder leading Thunderbirds at home on Saturday before the West Coast Fever and Sunshine Coast Lightning go head-to-head.
The Queensland Firebirds will be keen to make it two on the trot and could upset the Melbourne Vixens in front of their purple army.
And the NSW derby is set to be a fiery one with the Swifts hosting the GIANTS in front of a sell out crowd.
This is what you need to know heading into Round 12.
PURPLE ARMY IN FORCE
The Firebirds have risen from bottom spot on the ladder with a commanding 18 goal win over the GIANTS last week and will want to ride that high into taking on the Vixens, who are coming off the back of their first loss at home.
The Vixens undoubtedly have the more experienced squad, but regardless of their injury prone season, the Firebirds have not been let down by their training partners. Whether it is Hulita Veve, or Leesa Mi Mi, they have been up to the task.
They will have their work cut out for them this week, with the Vixens midcourt full of Diamonds players, with the Kate Moloney and Kim Ravaillion match up one to keep an eye on.
The Firebirds may have the advantage in the goal circle. Their strategy is similar to the NSW Swifts and something that the Vixens struggled to stop in their recent loss.
Donnell Wallam is a holding shooter, with a similar style to Romelda Aiken-George, whom Jo Weston and Emily Mannix struggled to stop last week.
And two in-form Diamonds will go head-to-head with Keira Austin and Ruby Bakewell-Doran set to line up against one another, which will be a key match up to watch.
The Vixens must win this one if they're any chance of locking in a home semi-final.
REST OF THE ROUND
The Swifts will host the GIANTS in a NSW showdown in front of a sold out crowd.
The GIANTS have a huge task in front of them.
They will need to stop the likes of Romelda Aiken-George and Helen Housby. The pressure will be on the midcourt to prevent the ball getting fed easily into the Swifts goalers. The battle in the midcourt will be an exciting one - Jamie-Lee Price, Amy Parmenter, Paige Hadley and Maddy Proud all in the one place will make for a competitive contest.
Considering how well the Swifts shot last week, GIANTS shooters Jo Harten and Sophie Dwyer will need to be at the top of their game, particularly when the power five sounds as they will likely need to cut into the margin.
Meanwhile, the West Coast Fever have struggled under tight finishes this season, so despite being the underdogs in this match up, if the Lightning want to steal a win, then all they need to do is apply enough pressure at the right times.
Kadie-Ann Dehaney will have to pull out all the stops when she takes on Jamaican teammate Jhaniele Fowler. She will be relying on her teammates to flood the transverse line and prevent the ball from getting into Fowler.
On the offensive end, Cara Koenen and Steph Wood will need to find their rhythm early on to provide that scoreboard pressure and keep themselves in the game.
In other news, the Magpies will take on the top of the table Thunderbirds.
The Thunderbirds fine form is set to continue this round, and they will have the chance to fully utilise the bench if they’d like to and allow them to grow confidence ahead of finals.
For the Magpies, they will need to prioritise holding posession, particularly when they are feeding their goalers. Thunderbirds defenders have been key to their success this season and are not afraid to leave the circle to gain intercepts.
The Magpies’ defence will be key to how this game plays out. Roses teammates Eleanor Cardwell and Geva Mentor will go head-to-head.
Mentor will have to lock her down if the Magpies want a chance, and Jodie-Ann Ward will likely be matched up on Tippah Dwan - this will be fun to watch.
