The Queensland Firebirds have announced Rebecca Bulley will be the club’s head coach for the next four years.
Bulley, a former Firebirds premiership player and Australian Diamond, returns to Queensland after spending time as assistant coach with the NSW Swifts, including their 2021 premiership year.
As a player Bulley won premierships with the Adelaide Thunderbirds and NSW Swifts in addition to the Firebirds and as a coach led North Shore United to success in Netball NSW's Origin Energy Premier League in 2020.
Bulley is looking forward to returning to the Firebirds and working with the team in 2023 and beyond.
“I have very fond memories of my time as a Firebird back in 2015 when we won the ANZ Premiership and it is a great honour and privilege to be a part of this club again and to lead this team,” she said.
“I’m extremely excited to work with the current cohort of players and hope that we can continue to build on the foundations already laid to secure a finals berth and a fourth premiership for the club.
“There is some great experience and talent in the group, and I am really looking forward to working with them. I honestly can’t wait to get started.”
The NSW Swifts have also thanked Bulley for her "immense contribution to the club".
