Brisbane’s Nissan Arena will host the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final, with the Finals Series to played in south-east Queensland over the next three weeks.
Nissan Arena will also host next Saturday’s Semi-Finals, which have been locked in after the final matches of the home and away season were played today.
Minor premier GIANTS Netball will take on the NSW Swifts in the Major Semi-Final at 1:00pm (AEST), with the winner securing their spot in the Grand Final.
In the Minor Semi-Final, the West Coast Fever will play the Sunshine Coast Lightning at 3:00pm (AEST) for the chance to face the loser of the GIANTS-Swifts clash.
The Preliminary Final will then be fought out at USC Stadium on Saturday 21 August at 3:00pm (AEST), before the premier is crowned in the Grand Final on Saturday 28 August at 2:30pm (AEST) at Nissan Arena.
The league is working with Queensland Health to determine if crowds can attend the Finals Series.
Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan was pleased to confirm the finals fixture.
“We would like to thank all the teams for their determination and sacrifice in what has been a very challenging season,” Ryan said.
“It’s fantastic to lock in the finals fixture, which will bring plenty of excitement to netball fans right across the country.
“We would also like to thank the Queensland Government for their support of the Suncorp Super Netball competition, especially over the past two seasons.”
Tourism and Sport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the Queensland Government was pleased to continue support for netball.
“We know the global pandemic has thrown up complex challenges for many in our community,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
“Super Netball has shown great tenacity in making sure the show goes on for the finals series in a Covid-safe environment.
