Queensland Firebirds duo Caitlyn Nevins and Laura Clemesha will call time on the their Suncorp Super Netball careers at season's end.
The veteran pair made the announcements separately on the Firebirds' Youtube channel this morning, as the team prepares to rebuild after being winless through the first 11 rounds of the 2019 season.
Nevins relocated from Victoria to join the Queensland franchise in 2015, forming a formidable front end with Kim Ravaillion, Gretel Tippett and Romelda Aiken that captured a back-to-back premierships that year and in 2016.
The 32-year-old wing attack made her Diamonds debut in the 2017 Quad Series, while also earning national Fast5 honours in 2016.
Clemesha, 27, has been a member of the Firebirds lineup since 2013, waiting patiently behind star defenders including Laura Geitz, Clare McMeniman and Bec Bulley, before earning greater opportunities over the past three seasons.
She was also a part of the club's 2015 and 2016 premierships.
The Firebirds appear set for a major roster shakeup, with their 11 games so far this season yielding two draws and nine losses and seeing them rooted to the bottom of the ladder.
Staring down their worst season result since their winless 2005 campaign, it is unclear whether the Firebirds will make further changes as they attempt to climb back towards the top of Super Netball in 2020.
