Win all four quarters and a top two spot could be theirs as well, depending on the other results of the round.
The Queensland team have not lost a match in Brisbane this season, their only home loss was when they played on the Gold Coast.
The Sharni Layton celebration parade will end in Brisbane and the Magpies will want to send their retiring champion off with a good result.
Earlier this week it was announced that Erin Bell and Shae Brown will also be retiring from netball at the end of this game, so this will be the final chance that netball fans will be able to watch the three playing in action.
To add to the occasion, Caitlin Thwaites will be playing in her 200th national netball league game – a remarkable achievement by an amazing athlete.
QUEENSLAND FIREBIRDS (V Magpies)
- A Firebirds win guarantees them a final berth.
- Firebirds could finish as high as second or as low as fifth.
- If the Firebirds win and secure all four bonus points, they move into second place if the Giants claim only one point or Fever claim no points, and Lightning don’t claim all eight points against the Vixens.
- If the Firebirds lose but secure three bonus points they’ll qualify for finals, with their position dependent on the result of the Lightning v Vixens match.
- If the Firebirds lose but secure two or one bonus points, they may/may not qualify, dependent on the result of the Lightning v Vixens match.
- For the Firebirds to be ousted on percentage, the Vixens would need to win by more than 20 goals.
