The re-signing of Mi Mi has created a buzz around the club with all eager to see her showcase her speed and agility.
Firebirds head coach Megan Anderson said she was confident that the 25-year could be on the verge of her best netball.
“Jem is such a naturally gifted athlete and netballer,” Anderson said.
“She has silky smooth skills, her feed into the circle is brilliant and I’m constantly in awe of her footwork and the way she bamboozles her defenders.
“Jem’s 2021 season was a bit disrupted by injury so I’m expecting big things from her in 2022, after a solid pre-season.”
With five seasons of experience to her name, Mi Mi is also looking forward to continuing to build on her game.
“I’m so excited to be back in the purple dress for the 2022 season,” she said.
“We’ve got an incredible playing group and I can’t wait to show everyone what we are capable next season.”
Mi Mi re-committing to the Firebirds means she will again fly the flag as the only indigenous player in the SSN competition for the 2022 season.
The talented wing attack said she hoped that her continuing to play at the highest level would further encourage other indigenous players to be inspired to follow in her footsteps.
“I hope to still be a role model to young Indigenous kids out there who love sport and one day want to play at the elite level,” she said.
Mi Mi’s signing leaves just one more player announcement left for the Firebirds to complete their 2022 squad.
