West Coast Fever import Stacey Francis-Bayman will claim a major milestone this Saturday as she plays her 100th national league game.
The celebration will take place in front of a Fever home crowd at Perth’s RAC Arena for the final home and away games of the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball season.
The standout Fever defender first burst onto the Super Netball scene in 2017 and has become a crucial element to the girls in green since.
Born in Birmingham, the English star commenced her elite netball career in 2005 as a 16-year-old for Team Bath in England’s Superleague national competition.
With dedication to her name, Francis-Bayman went on to become Team Bath’s longest-serving player, resulting in her induction to the University of Bath Sports Hall of Fame in 2017. A proud achievement, Francis-Bayman competed in every Team Bath Superleague title-winning side (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2013).
In her first season with the Fever, Francis-Bayman recorded 62 deflections, 22 intercepts and 9 rebounds. On court statistics have remained just as influential across her now six years in Western Australia.
Her debut for the England Vitality Roses launched, what has become, an incredibly successful international netball career for Francis-Bayman. With 78 caps to her name, she has also won two Vitality Netball World Cup bronze medals as well as another bronze at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
Having been selected for the Vitality Roses programme for 2022-23, Francis-Bayman's 100 game milestone this weekend is set to be just one of many inspiring moments across the next year.
Francis-Bayman's influence on others surpasses who athletic ability as a Pride House Birmingham ambassador and vice-chair member on the UK Netball Players Association.
Francis-Bayman will play her 100th national league game Sunday 12 June at 12.00pm AWST/ 2.00pm AEST against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
