The Suncorp Super Netball League has adjusted the Round 11 fixture after relocating four teams to Adelaide yesterday.
With the South Australian government extending their restrictions on the Queensland border late yesterday afternoon, the Queensland Firebirds and Sunshine Coast Lightning will remain in Queensland for their Round 11 match.
The Queensland Derby will be played at Nissan Arena on Monday 19 July at 7:00pm (AEST).
The league will continue to work with South Australian government to allow the Firebirds and Lightning to enter South Australia under strict protocols for future matches.
The Melbourne Vixens and Collingwood Magpies will open Round 11, with their match at Netball SA Stadium starting at 12:30pm (ACST) on Saturday 17 July.
It will be followed by a NSW derby, with the NSW Swifts taking on GIANTS Netball at Netball SA Stadium at 2:30pm (ACST).
The West Coast Fever will host the final match of the day, taking on the Adelaide Thunderbirds in front of a home crowd at RAC Arena at 6:00pm (WST).
All four matches will be open to the public.
“It has been challenging as the coronavirus situation continues to unfold, but we remain committed to completing a full 60-match season,” said Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan.
South Australia’s Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Corey Wingard said it was fantastic to welcome four Suncorp Super Netball clubs to Adelaide.
“It’s terrific that South Australia is able to support netball at this time,” Wingard said.
“We’re pleased to be able to assist Super Netball to continue their home and away matches in Adelaide and that teams will be able to relocate here to play the remainder of the season.”
