The Magpies have been impacted by COVID-19 and selected Barkmeyer after exhausting their own list of nominated athletes, training partners and COVID-19 supplementary players – dependent on position (goalers, midcourt and defenders).
Barkmeyer has signed a temporary replacement player contract with the Magpies for the Round 4 match, following approval by the League and with support from the Vixens.
Collingwood has also elevated nominated athlete Nyah Allen for tonight’s match against the Lightning at John Cain Arena, with goalers Sophie Garbin and Gabrielle Sinclair missing the Pies’ Round 4 and 5 matches through government COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
The COVID-19 Contingency Framework was developed in consultation with all eight Suncorp Super Netball teams and has been designed to support the competition’s communication, preparation and response planning in circumstances where there is an increased risk of COVID-19 exposure.
