Championship winning defender, Emily Mannix is the fourth player to commit to the Melbourne Vixens for season 2022.
The 27-year-old debuted for the club back in 2015 and has proven to be a crucial cog in the Vixens’ defensive unit and leadership group.
Mannix has had a decorated career so far, taking out the Sharelle McMahon Medal in 2019, awarded runner up in 2017 and was a part of the Vixens’ championship in 2020.
The goal keeper suffered a fractured knuckle in round 4 this year, and was forced to the sideline for three games.
“Playing for the Vixens is such an honour, and I’m really excited to have signed again, and to be part of this next phase and group that we’re building,” said Mannix.
“This year was obviously frustrating for me personally with injury, but it’s given me even more motivation to play my role next year and hopefully take it all the way as a team.
Mannix joins a few familiar faces with captain Kate Moloney, Liz Watson and Jo Weston already signing on for next season.
“I love playing with Jo down back. The two of us know each other’s game really well and I can’t wait to continue building our partnership out on court.”
