West Coast Fever Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich has extended her contract with the Club, signing until the end of the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Marinkovich became the first person in National League history to both captain and coach her Club, when she was named Fever Head Coach in 2015, leading them to their inaugural finals berth, a season where she was named Coach of the Year.
Marinkovich penned a new deal with the Club in 2016, with the extension highlighting the Coach’s commitment to the Club, according to West Coast Fever Executive Officer Tamara Sheppard.
“Stacey has been an integral part of our Club for a number of years, firstly as a player, and then as a Coach,” Sheppard said.
“Her dedication and hard work has played a huge role in the achievements of our Club, and will continue to do so as we strive to achieve sustained success.”
“Stacey is not only a wonderful ambassador for West Coast Fever, but also for netball in Western Australia, and she is truly the best person to lead our Club.”
Marinkovich said it was an easy decision to sign.
“Having been here for so long in different roles, I have a great passion for the Club,” Marinkovich said.
“The people I get to work with, and the players I get to coach, certainly make it something I am excited to be around for.”
“Obviously my aspirations are to win a premiership, but taking it step by step, it’s making finals, winning a final and then winning a premiership, and then being able to hold that success for a long period of time.”
West Coast Fever face the NSW Swifts in Sydney tonight, with the match broadcast on Telstra TV.
