Collingwood Magpies Captain Geva Mentor will be sidelined for Collingwood’s Round 2 Suncorp Super Netball match against GIANTS Netball tomorrow afternoon.
Mentor is managing ongoing lower back soreness and was ruled out of Saturday’s side following a final fitness test today.
This marks the first time Mentor will miss a Super Netball game, who has played 63 straight SSN matches for the Magpies and Lightning.
Fiona Fowler will replace Mentor in the goal-keeper position. Fowler plays with Melbourne University in the Victorian Netball League and formerly played Super Netball with the Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2017/18.
The 31-year-old has represented Scotland at an international netball level. Fowler was rewarded selection in the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2015 Netball World Cup.
Mentor is expected to return to the side next week when the Magpies take on the Adelaide Thunderbirds at Melbourne's John Cain Arena.
