Dear SSN fans,
We appreciate and understand your passion for our great sport.
Like many other organisations, however, we have had to change our plans for the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season to protect our community from the impact of the COVID19 pandemic.
These are unsettling times for all involved, but our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our community – our fans, athletes, coaches, umpires, officials, volunteers and staff. This means some significant changes to our 2020 plans.
While the situation remains fluid, we can provide the following update on some of our key events;
Suncorp Team Girls Cup
You should now be aware that as of last Friday the Suncorp Team Girls Cup and all associated activity was cancelled for 2020. The event will not be rescheduled.
Pre-Season Matches
All SSN teams have a number of pre-season matches ahead of the SSN season. All SSN Teams have been advised that intrastate matches may proceed as long as they are delivered in a controlled environment and closed to the general public. There is to be no interstate travel for pre-season matches at this stage.
2020 SSN Season
The league is modelling a number of different scenarios over the next week regarding the upcoming season and we’ll be sure to keep fans across the decisions we make.
Be assured that the Super Netball League (SNL) and Netball Australia (NA) are working closely with all our key stakeholders as well as government and health experts to monitor the situation and adapt our plans where necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Thank you for your continuing support, passion and understanding as we work together to get through these challenging times.
