Tuivaiti, continues her rehabilitation from a knee reconstruction, while Glasgow is in the final stages of her return to play program following an ankle injury.
Thunderbirds head coach Dan Ryan says Tuivaiti is currently focussing on building strength in her knee.
“Cat will then move into doing more contested work and play for the Southern Force in the Deakin University Australian Netball League to gain court time before being eligible for Adelaide Thunderbirds selection,” Ryan says.
“Recovering from a knee reconstruction is a process and we’re happy for it to take as long as it needs to, so Cat is ready and confident to play at this level.”
Tuivaiti’s replacement player, Jamaican teenager, Shimona Nelson continues to impress Ryan with Nelson currently ranked fourth for most goals scored in the league with 108.
Ryan says Glasgow is in the final stages of her return to play program.
“Sasha wasn’t able to fully take part in the pre-season due to her ankle and is currently getting court time playing for the Southern Force.”
South Australian Charlee Hodges, who has showed promising signs in goal attack in the first three rounds, will continue as Glasgow’s temporary replacement player.
Tuivaiti tore her ACL in July last year playing in the New Zealand netball league. Glasgow sustained an ankle injury in the Premier League Grand Final in September 2017.
