She said, “Hopefully we can stick together and if so, in three or four years time I see a championship or two under our belt.
“Everyone dreams of it and I’d be silly to say we're not looking for it and fighting to win, every team’s looking to win.”
The Swifts are one of the youngest outfits in the league and continue to improve with every round that passes.
Their first Suncorp Super Netball outing was largely unsuccessful, picking up just three wins during the entire season – but McCulloch is adamant that it hasn’t played on their minds so far during this campaign.
She explains, “We didn’t win many games last season but we weren’t an unhappy camp, we turned up to training, we worked for each other and tried really hard to improve.
“Everyone says that we’re young and inexperienced, that was just an excuse we used last season when we were losing games that we should’ve won.
“Now we are still young and inexperienced compared to other teams but give us a year or two and if we stay together, we’re not going to be the young and inexperienced team anymore – this year we’ve won more games already than what we won all of last season.”
Swift’s combinations across the court and close dynamics within the team have resulted in four wins so far this season, including a ten-goal drumming of the Magpies in round 5.
The Swifts will play a must-win game this Sunday against Lightning, who are coming off the back of three straight wins.
But McCulloch remains confident in the ability of her team and their chances of stealing a win that should see them drive up the ladder.
She said: “If we can get a win this weekend it can boost our position on the ladder and get ourselves a little more comfortable within the top four.
“I think it’s really important that we play finals this year and the only way to get there is to play well and play consistently by putting out those performances week in and week out.”
Sunshine Coast Lightning Head Coach Noeline Taurua told her thoughts on the game.
“One of the difficult things about Swifts is that they’ve been playing all 10 players and that makes them a very hard team to analyse," she said.
“Helen Housby – who’s arguably one of the best goal attacks in the league – has delivered some blinder performances this season.
“All of their midcourt players are skillful grafters and the defence will contest and compete for every ball.
“With the additional factor of having to play Swifts on their home soil, this game is definitely going to be a challenge.”
