Fresh off the back of a stellar 2021 season, Queensland Firebirds co vice-captain Kim Ravaillion has re-committed to the club for a further two years.
The newly crowned Laura Geitz Medallist is the first re-signing to be officially announced by the club in what has been a productive contracting period.
Ravaillion, who experienced plenty of individual success after being voted the Players’ Player and Members’ Player this season, said she was determined to taste team success.
“I signed on because I believe this club has so much potential,” said the 28-year-old who is now contracted until the end of the 2023 season.
“I feel we showed glimpses of what we were capable of which is exciting for what’s ahead.
“In 2022 I want to be holding that trophy up with my team.”
The mid-court star dominated in first season back with the Firebirds, with the return to the club coming after a year off from giving birth to daughter Georgie.
Firebirds head coach Megan Anderson spoke glowingly of Ravaillon.
“Kim Rav is an absolute professional, she brings so much energy, accountability, and drive to the team,” Anderson said.
“She’s always wanting the best from herself and her teammates and is continually pushing to learn and grow as a player and a person.
“Since having Georgie she’s so much more balanced and really see’s the best in all situations.
“Her positive, determined outlook really does lift the group and I have no doubt in 2022 we will continue to see her develop as a player.”
