Here’s your quick guide to what shapes as one of the biggest rounds of the season to date.
QUEENSLAND FIREBIRDS V WEST COAST FEVER
When: Saturday 26 May, 3pm
Where: Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Broadcast: Live on Nine, Telstra TV, Netball Live app
The Firebirds were riding high on a two-game winning streak until they were pipped at the post by the Giants on Sunday.
The job doesn’t get any easier for them now, with the unbeaten West Coast Fever riding into town. The Fever have the best shooter in the league in Jhaniele Fowler at their disposal, but they are a more complete roster than that.
The midcourt has been providing quality service and Courtney Bruce has been outstanding in defence. The Firebirds will need huge efforts across the entire court to grab the win here.
NSW SWIFTS V MAGPIES NETBALL
When: Sunday 27 May, 1pm
Where: Quaycentre, Sydney
Broadcast: Live on Nine, Telstra TV, Netball Live app
Both of these sides have felt the sting of heavy defeats at the hands of the Fever in recent weeks and will be looking to rebound strongly to surge into the top four.
The Magpies and Swifts have shown strong patches of form and despite sitting in the bottom four, have the talent to push up the ladder and into premiership contention.
The result of this one will tell us plenty about where both teams are at.
SUNSHINE COAST LIGHTNING V ADELAIDE THUNDERBIRDS
When: Sunday 27 May, 3pm
Where: USC Stadium
Broadcast: Telstra TV, Netball Live app
After starting the season 0-3, the Sunshine Coast Lightning recorded a drought-breaking win over Magpies Netball at the weekend.
They now have a chance to make it two in a row against a brave but battling Adelaide outfit when they return to USC Stadium at Sippy Downs.
Thunderbirds coach Dan Ryan has been furiously rotating his new-look roster to find a winning combination. At times they have looked sharp, but this will be a tough road trip for the Thunderbirds.
GIANTS NETBALL V MELBOURNE VIXENS
When: Sunday 27 May, 5pm
Where: Quaycentre, Sydney
Broadcast: Telstra TV, Netball Live App
A heavyweight battle rounds out the week of Suncorp Super Netball, with two sides looking to entrench themselves in the top two.
Both the Giants and Vixens have won three out of their four matches, with only bonus points splitting them on the ladder. Expect a fast-paced match here with plenty of physicality at the defensive end.
