Across the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball home and away season, a record 331,841 fans attended matches – an increase of 25 per cent year-on-year.
Each round an average of 23,703 fans attended Suncorp Super Netball matches – up by 30 per cent from 2023.
The final round of the home and away season, Round 14, attracted the biggest crowds in Suncorp Super Netball history, with 34,726 fans turning up to watch their teams live. It smashed previous records set in Round 1 (20,802), Round 6 (27,514) and Round 12 (28,786) of the 2024 season.
Support for clubs was at a record high, with twelve matches selling out across the season and club memberships up by eight per cent.
Netball Australia CEO Stacey West thanked fans for their unwavering support.
“Fans have turned up to support their teams in unprecedented numbers this year,” West said.
“The Suncorp Super Netball League wouldn’t exist without our incredible fans, and we say a massive thank you for your support and passion.
“Our Suncorp Super Netball clubs have staged exciting and entertaining match-day experiences, and the on-court action featuring the world’s best netballers has been outstanding.
“We’re looking forward to a thrilling Finals Series and hope to see more fans turning up and tuning in to support their clubs as they compete for a spot in the Grand Final.”
The Finals Series begins this weekend with the Major and Minor Semi Finals. Saturday’s Major Semi Final between the Adelaide Thunderbirds and the Melbourne Vixens at Adelaide 36ers Arena has sold out.
