The Suncorp Super Netball League has announced the Melbourne Vixens will travel to Queensland today ahead of their Round 5 clash against the Queensland Firebirds.
The Vixens were scheduled to travel to Nissan Arena on Friday but will fly out today due to the evolving coronavirus situation in Victoria.
The Collingwood Magpies will travel to Sydney on Saturday as planned for their Indigenous Round match against the NSW Swifts at Ken Rosewall Arena on Sunday.
The announcement comes after Victoria reported a growing list of positive cases and exposure sites.
Players, coaches and staff from both the Vixens and Magpies are adhering to enhanced coronavirus protocols.
Suncorp Super Netball Operations Manager Bill Allen thanked the Vixens for their flexibility.
“The health and safety of players, coaches, staff, umpires and fans is our number one priority,” Allen said.
“We will continue to follow the advice of the relevant health authorities and are constantly monitoring the coronavirus situation in Victoria.”
