The Australian underage stars are the first players to recommit to the Swifts in the contracting period which is currently open ahead of the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Goal Defender Turner, 22, who made her elite debut in the Red Dress in 2016, and is yet to miss a competitive Swifts fixture since, has reaffirmed her status as one of the best defenders in Suncorp Super Netball and signed on for another two seasons.
Midcourter Proud, 24, who was named Club MVP in 2017 and was part of the teams leadership group in 2018, also re-signs on a two-year deal after continuing her upward trajectory since moving to Sydney from Adelaide at the end of the 2016 Trans-Taman Netball League.
Garbin, who was named MVP in her first-ever Suncorp Super Netball game (the Swifts’ 2018 Round 1 victory over the Queensland Firebirds), will also be back in 2019 after committing to a one-year deal.
All players said they were thrilled to re-sign with the club.
“I have loved my time at the NSW Swifts and think that every game we are learning more and growing as a team,” Proud said.
“We have won some really close games this year which shows that on any given day we can take it to the best.
“The Swifts have been like a family to me and I can’t thank Netball NSW enough for welcoming me with open arms.
“Briony (Akle, Head Coach) has given us the licence to play with freedom and remember why we play the game, which is for the love of it.
“Considering our average age, I think that we can only get better and I can’t wait to see how far the Swifts can go in 2019.”
Turner, who played in the Swifts’ last Grand Final appearance in 2016 and represented Australia in the 2017 Fast5 World Series, also said she believed the Swifts was the right Club for her to achieve success.
“I am very much enjoying living in Sydney playing with the Swifts,” she said.
“I was a rookie in 2016 and since then my game has developed at the Club and I am focused on developing further.
“We have a great squad and we are all trying to help and encourage each other to get the best out of ourselves for the Swifts.”
Garbin, 21, who made the move from Western Australia after being named the Australian Netball League MVP in 2017, said she was looking forward to another season in the Red Dress.
“I have learned so much this year and can’t wait to continue that in 2019,” she said.
“While we have had some success I know there is a lot more for this group to give, and having had a taste of it I’m hungry for more.
“I love the environment that Briony has created and everyone at the Club has made me feel very welcome so I can’t wait to go better again in 2019.
“Having made such a great start to the first half of the season it’s disappointing not to be playing Finals this year but we’ve shown we can beat everyone in this competition so it’s about being more consistent next season.”
The NSW Swifts head to Adelaide this weekend to battle with the Thunderbirds, with the Swifts looking to end their 2018 season on a high.
