Adelaide Thunderbirds defender Shadine van der Merwe will depart the club ahead of the 2022 season after three years and 36 games in the pink dress.
The South African international joined the club as an injury replacement player in 2019 before becoming a permanent player in 2020 and 2021.
Thunderbirds High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said van der Merwe’s impact at the club - both on and off the court - was undeniable.
“Shadine is a wonderful person who is incredibly well-respected at our club by not only her teammates but the staff and fanbase too,” Bourdon said.
“Shadine will forever be a part of our Thunderbirds family and we wish her all the very best for the future.”
Van der Merwe said she has loved every moment in the league and being a part of the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
“I’ve met special people, made friends for life and played my best netball,” van der Merwe said.
“It’s been a dream to be here, playing against the best in the world and seeing the passion and hard work that goes into our wonderful sport.
“I want to thank the coaching and management team, the incredible fans and most importantly, my wonderful teammates - thank you for taking me into your hearts and being so kind, I will miss you all.”
