Melbourne Vixens midcourter, Liz Watson has re-signed with the club in 2022, committing to her ninth season with the Vixens.
Watson spent the 2021 season on the sidelines after requiring surgery on her Navicular bone in March.
However, the star remained an integral part of the Vixens squad in a leadership capacity and on the bench as assistant coach towards the end of the season.
Watson made her debut for the Vixens in 2014 and has since won two championships (2014 and 2020) as well as been awarded the Vixens’ most valuable player, the Sharelle McMahon Medal twice.
The Vixens truly missed Watson this season, who in 2020, recorded 912 Nissan Net Points, 367 assists and 284 centre pass receives in their premiership year.
Watson joins Kate Moloney as the first two players signings of the 2022 season.
“Having had the year off, I’m more excited than ever to get back out on court with the team and show our supporters what they know we can do,” said Watson.
“This year was not how we wanted to come off the back of a championship, but I know that what we’re building for 2022 is really exciting and there’s no doubt we have the championship in our sights.”
The Vixens’ have confirmed a third signing will be revealed tomorrow.
