Last year’s runners-up come into the 2019 ready to go one better and bring home the first Grand Final win in state history.
They’ll be led, once again, by their inspirational leaders Courtney Bruce and Stacey Francis, whose ability to completely shut down opposing shooters can turn a game on its head.
Up the other end of the court the Fever have the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball MVP, Jhaniele Fowler, who led the league with a record 884 goals.
With Nat Medhurst moving to the Magpies, Fowler will be working with the super impressive Kaylia Stanton and new recruit Alice Teague-Neeld up forward.
Rebel Young Star awardee Jess Anstiss is the leader of an exciting midcourt, which includes Verity Charles, Ingrid Colyer and Shannon Eagland.
It’s a solid midcourt that offers a little bit of everything; the power of Anstiss, the speed of Charles, the play-making of Colyer; and the dynamism of Eagland.
Despite their strong performance in 2018, there is still plenty of question marks surrounding the Fever.
Can they replace Nat Medhurst? Can coach of the year awardee Stacey Marinkovich get the squad back up after an emotional end to 2018? Will this perennially inconsistent club be able to back up their best season ever?
The Fever start the 2019 season on the road in Adelaide against the Thunderbirds on April 28 at 2.30PM at Priceline Stadium.
