Following the recent news of Nat Medhurst taking a break from the game to become a mother, Wolley will spend time in the program, supporting the side throughout the Suncorp Super Netball league's pre-season matches and the Deakin University Australian Netball League competition.
The 30-year-old will bring an impressive portfolio of netball accolades to the side, having playing experience spanning more than 22 years.
In 2019 alone, Woolley won the Geelong Cougars best and fairest and the MVP award for the Victorian Netball League (VNL).
A product of the Victorian netball pathway, the mother-of-two is a seven-time championship player and was named in the 2019 VNL team of the year, the third time since 2013.
Collingwood head coach Rob Wright was impressed by Woolley’s consistent performance.
“Julia is someone who has performed consistently well over the last few years and has continued to get better,” Wright said.
“Her form and the way she goes about her business on-court demanded that we gave her an opportunity at Collingwood.
“She is a high volume, high percentage goal attack – her style compliments how we want to play moving forward.”
Woolley will arrive at the Holden Centre, along with returning teammates, for preseason training on Monday.
