For the West Coast Fever, they're coming off the high of a Suncorp Super Netball Premiership win.
For them, it will be about taking that momentum into 2023. Can they go back-to-back?
But before we look too far into the future, let's take a moment to reflect on the season gone by.
Over the next two weeks we will be taking a deep dive into each teams' season, highlighting defining moments before touching on what's to come in 2023.
SEASON REFLECTION
It is hard to fault the West Coast Fever's season.
They're premiers after all. And the only surprising blips were a couple of losses at home in the west - one at the hands of the Melbourne Vixens and the other to the Queensland Firebirds.
But they have been a force to be reckoned with.
Club stalwarts like Courtney Bruce and Jhaniele Fowler reached new heights in 2022 - arguably playing some of the best netball they've ever produced.
While young guns Sunday Aryang and Sasha Glasgow continued to flourish. Meanwhile Alice Teague-Neeld found a new home at wing attack and never skipped a beat.
DEFINING WIN
The Fever's most nail-biting, and arguably most defining, win came at the expense of the NSW Swifts run to finals.
But for the green army it was a victory that cemented their status as a team to beat by proving they could hold off a charging Swifts outfit.
West Coast had a 10 goal advantage nearing three-quarter-time, when the Swifts mounted a powerful comeback, levelling the scores inside the final minute.
But the Fever held on. The victory meant the team could not be dislodged from second spot on the ladder, while the last two finals spots remained up for grabs.
Another defining moment for the green girls was their semi-final victory against the Melbourne Vixens.
The Vixens had the better of the Fever twice during the season, but the tables turned come finals.
Jamaican superstar Jhaniele Fowler produced a goal-shooting masterclass as West Coast Fever scored an emphatic 71-62 victory over Melbourne Vixens to earn the right to host the grand final at home.
GAMECHANGER
It's hard to go past Fowler.
The 196cm shooter absolutely dominated during season 2022. She scored more than 800 goals and was the leading rebounder with 46 to her name. Fowler also finished with the most Nissan Net Points in the league.
LOOKING FORWARD
The West Coast Fever have kept their core group together for season 2023, with the exception of Stacey Francis-Bayman who announced her retirement from netball.
To fill the void experienced defender Kim Jenner is making the move to the west from Queensland to help bolster the team's defensive end.
If they produce the performances they did in 2022 next year there's no reason why they can't go back-to-back.
